About Demetra

My love for dogs started in San Diego, where I grew up with three very different family dogs: a chocolate lab, a wheaten terrier, and an adopted mutt. Each one shaped the way I understand dogs today.

The lab was incredibly well trained and looked after me as I grew up. The wheaten terrier was a bad bitch who kept everyone on their toes. And the mutt (my soul dog) taught me patience, trust, and how deeply dogs feel the world around them.

While I don't currently have a dog of my own because I understand the responsibility, time, and care they deserve, I feel incredibly privileged to step in as that trusted person while you are away.

What started as a side hustle in 2021 quickly became one of the most meaningful parts of my life, introducing me to the community and connections dogs naturally create.

In 2024 I made the leap to San Francisco and decided to fully pursue my love for dogs: growing my pet care business, volunteering at my local shelter, continuing to learn more about dog behavior and training, and building Big Dog Energy Club — A Community of Humans Living in a Dog's World.

I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, anxious dogs, administering oral and topical medication, and dogs with various personalities, routines, and comfort levels. Whether your dog needs structure, patience, play, or just someone calm to hang with while you're away, my goal is to always make them feel as safe, comfortable, and understood as possible.

Every new client starts with a meet and greet, and I send photo updates throughout every visit. And while my focus is dogs, I do cat sit too!
